With your dog standing (putting weight on it), place the paw on a sheet of paper, mark the widest sides and measure in cm. Measure one front paw and one back paw. If they’re between two sizes, write to us and we’ll help you choose.

Rugs or non-slip runners in the areas they walk and next to their bed; short nails; trimmed fur between the pads. Many dogs improve with that alone. Socks are one more aid, not the first.
Getting used to them
For the first few days, put them on for 5–10 minutes with a treat and build up gradually. It’s normal for them to lift their paws oddly at first.

Warnings
- Don’t leave them on for long or overnight: paws need to breathe.
- The fastening should be firm but not tight: one finger should fit. If the paw looks swollen or feels cold, take them off.
- If your dog chews them or tries to swallow them, take them off.
- If they walk worse with them, drag their paws or curl their toes when they step, take them off and talk to your vet: they may need a different kind of help.
- They can twist or shift with use: check them now and then.

Do they fall off?
With some dogs they can move: it’s the most common complaint with this kind of sock. The right size and a snug Velcro fit help. Use them indoors and under supervision.
